I hear these things all the time...
>>I don't wanna gobble til I wobble! >>I don't wanna gain 10 lbs over the holidays!
What I REALLY want is to live life in moderation and enjoy my favorite treats, pick and choose wisely and follow a few simple rules!!
Here are 5 tips to help you get in the right mindset!!!
1. Keep Working Out
Make you the top of the priority list every day. You are so worthy and deserving of that time for you! In addition to helping you have more energy, I know that the holidays can lead to stress. So taking time out for you to get your sweat on is vital!
2. Stay Hydrated
Aim to drink half your body weight in oz of water a day. This will help you fight off hunger, keep your energy levels up and stay focused. If you struggle with your water intake, I love the free app called Water Your Body (for android). Or you can also take rubber bands and place them around your water bottle for every 8 oz you drink.
3. Share a Healthy Side Dish
Always offer to bring something healthy to get togethers. Then you know you'll have at least your one healthy option for sure!
4. Everything in moderation
Enjoy your meal and desert. Opt for passing on a heavy carb and have ONE piece of pie. Have a glass of wine...not the whole bottle. Your body will thank you for loving it! And...don't beat yourself up if you slip up and have more than you originally wanted. I don't believe in dieting. Check out my blog post here to see why I don't believe in dieting and what you can do to overcome those feelings.
5. Never go to a party hungry
Eat a healthy meal before you go. Then...if you get there and there's not a lot of healthy options, you aren't left being overly hungry and feeling like you're making unhealthy options.
At the end of the day, give yourself some grace. You can fully enjoy the holidays, stay on track with your health and mindset goals AND end your year strong and in alignment with where you're heading.
